Test Evolution Ltd

Test Evolution Ltd has developed a wide range of in house skills over many years as a result of the diverse projects we have been involved in, skills which are all needed in the development of custom test and monitoring equipment.  We can offer this experience as individual services to assist in a customers project or supplement an existing team.

v Electronics Design

v Analogue Electronics - From monitoring and acquisition circuits for measurement of nA through to several amps, highly stable voltage and current supply designs, monitoring and control of temperatures, pressure, gas flow, etc.

v Digital Electronics - From simple through to complex, high speed designs covering data conversion, video applications, communications interfaces, display control and motor control

v Microprocessors - Experience with a range of different manufacturers microprocessors allows use of the one most suitable for the project or specified by the customer.

v Programmable Logic - Covering complex FPGA designs to simple PALs using a range of devices (Altera, Xilinx, Lattice, AMD, etc)

v Opto-Electronics - Our specialist area, many previous projects have included an element of electro-optics such as laser drive and control or detector monitoring circuits.

v Software Design

v Microprocessor Firmware – Generally written in assembly language by engineers with a firm understanding of the hardware to be controlled and covering many different manufacturers processors.

v PC Software - PC based software written by experienced and qualified software engineers in a language suited to a project such as Visual Basic, C or Labview, and linked to a database if required.

v Mechanical Design - Generally all developments require some form of mechanical design which may be a simple panel or custom enclosure.  Many test equipment type projects undertaken have required a precision jig or fixture to be designed to hold a product under test.  We are able to undertake this type of mechanical design either as part of a project or in isolation, including the manufacture or prototypes or production items, often under tight timescales.

v Fibre Optics - A long association with the fibre related applications means that we have a broad and practical experience in this area, from a simple termination to the development or assembly of a complex optical system.

v PCB Layout - As we already have the facilities to carry out our own printed circuit layouts we can also offer this as an external service if required.  All our PCB layouts are carried out by qualified electronic engineers to ensure a full understanding of any functionally critical aspects of a circuit, and make sure that the PCB will mechanically fit its intended enclosure   We can organise the manufacture of the PCB, or assembly and testing of a prototype if required.

v PCB Assembly / Build to Print - We provide a subcontract assembly service for PCBs or sub-assemblies.  Not only does this reduce a customers procurement overhead but also we can test the assembly or PCB prior to delivery.  This means that when the item is placed in the final product there is a high degree of confidence that it will work within the system thereby streamlining the product line.

v CE Compliance and Risk Analysis - As we already carry out compliance and safety analysis on test equipment manufactured by ourselves, we are pleased to provide this as an independent service.

v Product Design - All of the above functions can be brought together to provide a full product design and development service if required.
